Một lưu ý dành cho người sử dụng đó là nhóm thuốc kháng sinh trị viêm xoang Penicillin khả năng gây kích ứng tương đối cao do đó mọi người cần cân nhắc sử dụng với liều lượng phù hợp.
Nhóm thuốc kháng sinh chữa viêm xoang Penicillin sẽ bao gồm:
Penicillin G

Người lớn: 1 triệu đến 50 triệu UI/ 24h chia 4 lần, tiêm bắp hoặc truyền tĩnh mạch (pH dịch truyền 6- 7).
Trẻ em trung bình cho 100.000 UI/ kg/ 24h.
Amoxicillin (+ Acid clavulanic/clavulanate)
Đây là thuốc kháng sinh trị viêm xoang thuộc nhóm Penicillin bán tổng hợp có tính kháng khuẩn cao nhạy cảm với hầu hết các loại vi khuẩn gây nhiễm khuẩn đường hô hấp trong đó có khi khuẩn gây viêm xoang.
Khả năng hấp thụ thuốc vào trong cơ thể khá tốt lên đến 90% qua đường uống. Tuy nhiên, Amoxicillin dễ bị phá hủy bởi các loại men beta – lactamase vì vậy chúng ta cần cân nhắc sử dụng.
Liều lượng:
- Người lớn: 2- 4g/ ngày.
- Trẻ em 50 mg/ kg/ ngày.
- Mỗi ngày dùng 3 – 4 lần.
Có thể nói, Amoxicillin là loại kháng sinh có tính an toàn khá cao, ít tác dụng phụ nguy hiểm.
Kháng sinh trị viêm xoang nhóm Cephalosporin
Nếu để lựa chọn kháng sinh trị viêm xoang tốt nhất trong nhóm Cephalosporin, các bác sĩ sẽ ưu tiên lựa chọn Cephalosporin thế hệ 2, 3, 4. Với nhóm kháng sinh này, có tác dụng diệt khuẩn và hoạt động theo cơ chế ức chế sự tổng hợp các tế bào vi khuẩn khá giống với Penicillin.

Erythromycin
Đây là thuốc thuộc nhóm kháng sinh trị viêm xoang Macrolid, sản phẩm được đánh giá khá cao, dụng nạp tốt thông qua đường uống đặc biệt hơn có thể dùng cho trẻ nhỏ và phụ nữ có thai nhằm điều trị các nhiễm khuẩn xoang hoặc nhiễm khuẩn cơ hội khác.
Liều lượng sử dụng
- Người lớn: 1 – 2 g/ngày, chia làm 2 – 4 lần, khi nhiễm khuẩn nặng. Có thể tăng đến 4g/ngày, chia nhiều lần.
- Trẻ em: 30 – 50 mg/kg/ngày. Trong trường hợp nhiễm khuẩn nặng, có thể tăng liều lên gấp đôi. Trẻ em từ 2 – 8 tuổi dùng liều 1g/ngày. Trẻ em dưới 2 tuổi dùng 500 mg/ngày, chia làm nhiều lần.
- Với các trường hợp người bệnh không có khả năng uống, hoặc bệnh nặng, có thể tiêm tĩnh mạch với liều lượng tương đương với liều dùng đường uống.
Azithromycin
Có thể nói, trong tất cả các loại kháng sinh trị viêm xoang đang có mặt trên thị trường hiện nay, Azithromycin là loại thuốc được đánh giá nhạy cảm với hầu hết các chủng nhiễm khuẩn gây đến hiện tượng nhiễm trùng xoang, nhiễm trùng đường hô hấp như Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, Pneumococcus và các vi khuẩn gram âm như Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Mycobacterium, Chlamydia pneumonia,…
Liều lượng sử dụng
- Người lớn: Liều tấn công 500mg/lần, sau đó duy trì với liều 250mg/ngày trong 4 ngày.
- Trẻ em: Tấn công với liều 10mg/kg và duy trì 5mg/kg/ngày trong 4 ngày tiếp theo.
Co-Trimoxazol (Biseptol)
Đây có thể khẳng định là một trong những chế phẩm phối hợp giữa Trimethoprim và Sulfamethoxazol theo tỷ lệ 1:5. Sự kết hợp này được đánh giá cao về hiệu quả sử dụng từ đó làm tăng tính diệt khuẩn và làm giảm tình trạng kháng thuốc xảy đến.
Thông thường, thuốc kháng sinh trị viêm xoang Co-Trimoxazol được ưu tiên sử dụng cho những bệnh nhân bị nhiễm khuẩn trong các trường hợp cụ thể:
- Có nguy cơ kháng thuốc cao
